Symbols of Christ

The Door

When Christ extended his hand on the Cross he became the Door through which the wall of separation between God and man was opened. The Christian symbolism of the Door found it most beautiful expression in the mighty portals of medieval cathedrals. They are the holy gates through which the faithful enter in to the joy of the Lord.
