Symbols of Christ

The Fountain of Life

This threefold function of the spring is a wonderful symbol of the mission of Our Saviour.  Therefore, the prophet sees in the fountain a symbol of the coming Messiah as he exclaims: "Then you shall draw water with joy from the springs of the Saviour!"
