The Lamp
The
Symbols of the burning lamp appears in the history of our salvation for
the first time in Abraham's vision, when at sunset a trance came upon him
and a great and gloomy terror seized upon him, and he saw, in the thick
darkness, a smoking furnace and a burning torch passing between the pieces
of the sacrifice.
Note: All of these symbols can be seen on the outside walls of the Hesburgh
Library.
