Self-Service Features/My Account   

Allows you to:

•  VIEW your loan list

•  RENEW your materials

•  VIEW your hold/recall requests

•  DELETE your hold/recall requests

•  CHANGE your verification number

•  RECALL needed materials that are on loan: See below "Recalls Made Easy"

What you need:

•  The 14-digit BARCODE NUMBER on the back of your ID card, for example:

•  4 or more digit number (which you may change). Initially:

Notre Dame University & Saint Mary's College
MMDD of birthdate, e,g, 1225 for December 25
Holy Cross & Bethel College
The last four digits of your social security number
Problems?
If the PIN information listed above does not work, or if you have changed your PIN and forgotten it, please contact the circulation desk for assistance. You must have your ID in order to have your PIN reset.
Note: The PINs for ND patrons were changed to MMDD effective Aug. 22, 2005. Some records may not have updated, due to missing information, late registrations, etc.

How to access your "My Account"

•  Start from http://catalog.library.nd.edu

Also available from the ND home page. Select: libraries/University libraries/ND Libraries Catalog

•  Fill in the "My Account" box at top of page

•  Enter your ID barcode number

14-digit number on the reverse side on your Notre Dame ID card

•  Enter your verification number

Forgot your verification number? Request it to be Reset at a Circulation desk or send request to library.circ.1@nd.edu

•  From "My Account" click one of the following:

•  LOANS: view list of materials currently on loan

List does not include InterLibrary Loan

•  HOLDS: View materials you have requested or delete the recall/hold

•  RENEW your materials for another pre-determined loan period

Materials that have been "recalled" or "on hold" for another patron and those materials considered "lost" will NOT be renewed

 

Allows you to RECALL books currently on loan.

  • The person who has the item will receive a notice giving them 14 days to return it.
  • If there is more than one person recalling the item, each person will be able to borrow it for 2 weeks before having to return it.
  • You will receive an email or letter letting you know when the item has been returned and is available for you to check out.
  • The item will be held for you for 10 days at the delivery point you requested.

What you will need:

  • The 14-digit BARCODE NUMBER on the back of your ID card.
  • A verification number. (see above)

How to place Web Recalls:

Step 1. Identify the book you want in the Library Catalog
(Use Basic or Advanced Search).

Step 2. Select the name of the library branch OR "Recall item" next to the owned/out statement. This will display a list of volumes or copies in a new window.

Step 3. Click the "Recall Item" link next to the copy or volume you want to recall.

Step 4. Enter your ID Barcode Number and your Verification Number

Your Barcode is the 14-digit number on the reverse side of your Notre Dame ID card.

Step 5. From the Recall Request window,

  • Select the name of the library where you want to pick up the book.
  • Optionally, set the "Not Needed After" date.
Do NOT set the date for less than 15 days. Note that if the book is returned to the library after this date, you will not be notified.
  • Click "Send."

Step 6. When you are finished press the RESET button to LOGOUT.

Failure to RESET and LOGOUT of the session will allow others to view your personal information.
