Document Access & Database Management (DADM)

The Document Access & Database Management department is comprised of two units: Government Documents Technical Services (Gov Docs) and Catalog and Database Maintenance (CADM). Our mission is to insure online access to and integrity of bibliographic and holdings data of the collections in all formats:

  • Through post-cataloging quality routines applied to the online catalog, including establishment of authorized forms of searchable headings like names, subjects, and series
  • Through transactions to reflect in the online catalog the adds and withdraws to the collections and transfers of materials from one location to another
  • Through electronic file transfer of vendor-produced bibliographic records that describe depository U.S. government publications available in print, maps, and microform such as Web, DVD-ROM, and CD-ROM
  • Through the creation of electronic bibliographic and holding records describing Euroopean Union and other government publications
  • Through the provision of online access to our services such as online forms
