My life starts out in Seoul, South Korea. I was born on October 5, 1987 and was taken care of by my foster parents. Soon after I was adopted by a young couple in the United States. They went through the pain staking paperwork and the hardest thing a parent can do...Wait!
After waiting for the longest time they finally arrived at the Chicago airport to pick up their new baby girl. They named her Melissa Anne Madsen. I was a very quiet girl and didn't cause my parents too much trouble by crying all night.
A couple of years have passed now and I began my journey and it started with elementry school. I really enjoyed the teachers and the classes I was in. But soon a new path came into effect and I was moving to a new school after my fourth year. I was going to start a new journey and meet new people.
Starting fifth grade I wished that I was back at my other school. I didn't like the fact that my parents made her move to another school and I really didn't like the fact that I left my best friend behind. But I coped through fifth and sixth grade and after that I decided that I wanted to be homeschooled. My parents agreed and I tried that for two years. It was a big change and a different one at that. It was a fun two years though and I went on some field trips and had a lot of free time since school only lasted until noon. I ended up getting confirmed in 2000 and my confirmation I chose was Clare so thats how my name became Melissa Anne Clare Madsen.
Going into highschool I had to start all over again going to classes and meeting new classmates. I was a cheerleader freshman year and I enjoyed it but as sophomore year rolled around I wanted to try a sport that I could be involved in so I chose golf. Golf turned out to be a blast and I had a great time learning how to play the game and learn the rules. As junior and senior year went by things became more clear about the fact that school was almost over and I had to start thinking about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. So I knew I loved horses and I had a great respect for police officers and wanted to be like them with the bravery and courage so I put the two together and decided that my dream was to become a mounted police officer.
Now that highschool is over I'm working at Notre Dame for the summer and enjoying the experience of what librarians do and since this is my first job I'm really liking the working field so far. I head down to school in a few weeks and I'm planning to major in Equine Studies and the thing that excites me the most is the fact that the professors give the equine major students a horse for the year to take care of. Since it wasn't in the budget growing up now's my chance to finally have a horse of my own even though it's not technically my horse.
Thanks for taking the time to read my biography and I hope you enjoyed it. |
