My name is Mara Elizabeth Martinez.  I was born on July 2, 1989 in waco, Texas.  I moved to Indiana when i was about eight years old.  I have five brothers.  I currently have 3 pets.  A dog named Achilles and two guinea pigs named "Tomater" and "Tater Tot".  I went to Harrison Elementary, Navarre Middle School, and Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana.  I will be attending Saint Mary's College in the fall.

   I have many influential people in my life, but the most influential person in my life is my father.  He has raised all three of his kids as a single parent for the past ten years.  He has always been willing to do anything for us without ever complaining about it, especially when no one else was willing to. 

   Another influential person in my life was one of my high school english teachers, Mrs. Anne Costello.  Mrs. Costello is a truly wonderful person and a great teacher.  Mrs Costello and her husband were willing to adopt three children instead of one child because there were siblings. 

    Another influential person in my life is Nicole Garcia.  She was my Track Coach in high school.  without her, i don't think i would be going to college.  Instead, I would probably have joined the Air Force right about now.  She was the person who got me interested in attending Saint Mary's and helped me with my Financial Aid in order to afford college.  This is an important thing for me at this time in my life; to have funds to attend college.

    For the next five years, I have small goals I would like to accomplish.  From the small goals, I have several big goals Some of the bigger goals are traveling to another country, graduate from college, and begin a career.  Within the next ten years, I would like to have a comfortable lifestyle and possibly be married and start a family.
