Before you begin searching for a magazine or journal article, it is a good idea to do some brainstorming in order to focus the topic. Try the following:
1. Write down your topic as a statement or question.
For example, if you are interested in media and its effect on the female self-image, your question would be: "How does media affect the female self-image?"
2. What are the most important words or main concepts in your question?
Media, Female, Self Image
3. What are some synonyms or alternate forms of the the key terms that describe your question?
