Use University Libraries' Electronic Resources to Find Articles?

Use a periodical index to search for articles. Indexes in electronic format are often referred to as electronic databases or electronic resources. Try looking in the back portion of one of your textbooks. You should find an index. If you look for a topic, the index will point to the page number(s) within the textbook where the topic is discussed.

Periodical indexes supply citations which direct you to specific journal articles. Citations may include:

author

article title

title of journal, magazine or newspaper

volume number

date of publication

page numbers

abstract - a brief summary of the article
