Caching In At the Libraries
First Year Students Only!
![]() |
Sign up and Cache In @ the Libraries! All First Year students are eligible to compete for iPod Shuffles, ND t-shirts, and other prizes. Have fun while getting to know your way around the campus, find out about library services, and meet some new people. |
by 12 Noon, Monday, September 10, 2007 to compete.
How the game works:
Several “caches” (most of them are small magnetic key holders) are hidden throughout the libraries on campus. To be entered into the drawing to win an iPod Shuffle you will need to:- find all of the hidden caches
- sign the cache logs
- record all of the cache facts on your cache form
- turn in your completed cache form to the Hesburgh Library Information Desk by Noon on Monday, September 17, 2007.
Note: Even if you don’t find all of the caches, you are still eligible to win t-shirts and other prizes!
On September 10, 2007, registered players will receive an email with detailed instructions and clues to the locations of the caches. Players will have a week to find all of the caches. Once you have the clues, nearly everything you need to know to find the caches is available on the library home page: http://www.library.nd.edu/.
Good luck! If you have questions about "Caching In @ the Libraries", please contact Cheri Smith at csmith@nd.edu or by phone at 631-4271.
Whose idea was this anyway?
The inspiration for this game comes from a couple of Notre Dame librarians who like to geocache as a hobby. See http://www.geocaching.com/ if you are interested in learning more about this hobby. Caching In @ the Libraries is designed to introduce First Year students to University Libraries and its resources.
