Note the juxtaposition of the images in the margin with those in the center of the frame. Below the depiction of the Jesus praying is Judas' betrayal. Outside the portrayal of the Annunciation is the greeting of Anne and Joachim (the parents of Mary) at the Golden Gate and the appearance of the angel to the shepherds announcing the birth of Christ.
