This antiphonary was copied from an earlier manuscript, dating from about the year
1000. This facsimile therefore gives easy access to very early liturgical materials
from an unidentified medieval Hungarian diocese, corresponding on the whole with
the liturgy of Esztergom. The old type of musical notation was still in use in Hungary
during the twelfth century: neumes without any lines, in campo aperio.
