Hispanic Caribbean Manuscripts

The Hispanic Caribbean collection will include manuscripts, letters, typescripts and other ephemera that offer scholars and students research materials for the study of Spanish language literature throughout the entire Caribbean Basin. While the emphasis of the collection will be on Cuba, materials from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic will be collected as well.

The Hispanic Caribbean manuscripts collection forms only one part of Notre Dame's resources for research into the Hispanic literature of the Caribbean Basin. Through an endowment provided by the generosity of José E. Fernández (ND '65), Notre Dame is seeking to dramatically expand its resources in Hispanic Caribbean literature.
