The G. K. Chesterton Collection

Over 2,000 books and periodicals by or about G. K. Chesterton constitute this collection which includes almost all editions of his works as well as translations into several other languages and Braille. Also present are a small number of manuscripts, original sketches, photographs, and recordings.

The collection was acquired from Notre Dame alumnus, John Bennett Shaw ('37), in 1965 along with the Eric Gill Collection. The collection contains most of the titles listed in G. K. Chesterton: A Bibliography by John Sullivan (New York: Barnes & Noble, 1958).
