Roundels

The roundel is a generic name which comprises all charges which are plain circular figures of color or metal. There are different terms for each color in English heraldry as shown below. Roundels of more than one color are refered to as "per pale."


or = bezant argent = plate gules = torteau azure = hurt

sable = ogress,
pellet or gunstone
vert = pomme
or pomeis
purpure = golpe tenné = orange
ogress pomme golpe orange
       
sanguine = guze barry wavy argent
& azure = fountain
