decoration:The first parchment leaf f. 3r of the diploma is covered in a floral pattern with an episcopal and civil coat of arms above and below the motto IN DEI NOMINE AMEN. The borders are decorated in an interlocking pattern in red, gold, and purple with fleurs-de-lis at the corners. Three-line gold initial p on f. 4r. All subsequent names, and titles and some capitals in gold, with a few capitals in red. Blind stamped seal affixed to f. 8r.

Date of origin:The diploma is dated 16 May 1640.

Support: Parchment and paper codex with watermark: orb with anchor and star.

Script:The text is in formal humanist cursive in a single hand.

Binding:Bound in 18th century pastepaper.

Additions:The diploma includes oaths and signatures of school and episcopal authorities on ff. 7v-8r.
