Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find primary sources?
There are many different kinds of primary sources, but all provide a contemporary perspective on a person or event. Some examples are diaries, autobiographies, letters, manuscripts, minutes of meetings, news footage, photos, newspaper articles, speeches and interviews, government documents, census records, public records, legal transcripts and documents; creative works such as poetry, music, visual art; artifacts such as pottery, clothing, furniture, and buildings.
