Acceptable Use Policy

From indices and abstracts of the literature to full-text journals, from handbooks and dictionaries to preprints, this is the place to begin. This web page contains links to resources for your search of the astronomical literature. The Chemistry-Physics Library (231 Nieuwland Science Hall) contains recent astronomy print resources not available electronically. Older print astronomy resources can be found in the lower level of the Hesburgh Library. Contact the Physics Librarian for information about how to use these electronic resources and any print resource.

Access to these resources is governed by license agreements which restrict use to the Notre Dame community and to individuals who use the Notre Dame Libraries' facilities. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure that he or she uses these products only for individual, noncommercial use without systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information. Acceptable use forbids downloading contents of entire issues of a given journal title. The use of software such as scripts, agents, or robots, is generally prohibited and may result in loss of access to these resources for the entire Notre Dame community.

Features its Abstract Service, providing over 210,000 textual abstracts and 6,000 journal images.
