Acceptable Use Policy

Environmental engineering research at Notre Dame is often chemical, biological/microbiological, and geochemistry/geoscience literature. Three campus libraries provide information and assistance to researchers in these areas; the Chemistry/Physics Library at 231 Nieuwland, the Life Sciences Library at 149 Galvin, and the Engineering Library at 149 Fitzpatrick Hall. The library catalog provides location information for reference materials, books and journals in print form. There are also many online journals available that are accessible over the campus network.

Access to these resources is governed by license agreements which restrict use to the Notre Dame community and to individuals who use the Notre Dame Libraries' facilities. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure that he or she uses these products only for individual, noncommercial use without systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information. Acceptable use forbids downloading contents of entire issues of a given journal title. The use of software such as scripts, agents, or robots, is generally prohibited and may result in loss of access to these resources for the entire Notre Dame community.

Also includes Engineering Index Backfile covering information from the printed Engineering Index for the period 1884-1969. Overall coverage: 1884 to present.

  Contains frequently used data in chemistry and physics (basic constants, units, and conversion factors; symbols, terminology, and nomenclature; physical constants of organic compounds; properties of the elements and inorganic compounds; information on molecular structure; etc.) Usage info: Licensed for one concurrent user.
