Acceptable Use Policy

Library and Information Science deals with the management of information for ease of accessibility by the user. Management of information allows for efficient, transparent arrangement, storage and retrieval. Within this subject category will be found resources commonly used by librarians in their daily work as well as their research, as well as resources of value to other users in their search for information.

Access to these resources is governed by license agreements which restrict use to the Notre Dame community and to individuals who use the Notre Dame Libraries' facilities. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure that he or she uses these products only for individual, noncommercial use without systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information. Acceptable use forbids downloading contents of entire issues of a given journal title. The use of software such as scripts, agents, or robots, is generally prohibited and may result in loss of access to these resources for the entire Notre Dame community.

Indexes articles and book reviews from library and information science periodicals, books, chapters in collected works such as conference proceedings, library school theses and pamphlets. Usage info: Licensed for one simultaneous user.
Library, information science and technology abstracts (EBSCO)

Database provides coverage on subjects such as librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Delivered via the EBSCOhost platform, LISTA indexes more than 600 periodicals plus books, research reports, and proceedings. With coverage dating back to the mid-1960s, it is the oldest continuously produced database covering the field of information science.

Bibliographic and pricing information for popular U.S. and international serials from thousands of publishers.
Ulrich's periodicals directory

Bibliographic and access information for serials published throughout the world, covering all subjects. Entries provide pricing, subscription and distribution details as well as publisher, editor contacts. Direct links to URLs and e-mail addresses given when available, along with reviews excerpted from Magazines for Libraries and Library Journal.
