Biology, Environmental Sciences, and Medicine

The Libraries provide access to services and resources to support research, teaching, and learning in the areas of biology, environmental science, medicine, and preprofessional studies.

Search the literature effectively in these areas using Web of Science or PubMed. Access the full text of many journal articles online using the FindText icon in these search engines. Use the eJournal Locator to quickly find relevant journals, and use ND Catalog to locate ebooks and print materials. Relevant print collections can be found on the Lower Level of the Hesburgh Library, especially in the call number ranges QH-QR (biology, environmental science) and R-RZ (medicine, neuroscience, preprofessional studies).

The librarian for biological sciences, Carolyn Scearce, provides a variety of library services, including one-on-one, small-group, and course instruction sessions. Her areas of expertise include finding and evaluating sources, citation searching, EndNote, and scholarly metrics.
