This collection provides digital access to the American Antiquarian Society's periodical collections. More than 200 years ago, the AAS was founded and has been recognized as a major source for U.S. primary sources published pre-1876, housing the single largest collection of Americana from the Colonial period into the twentieth-century. Part I-V of the collection offers a highly comprehensive documentary history of the American experience spanning four centuries with multiple perspectives on the thought, culture, and society of North America. Part VI brings the previous published Part I-V more firmly into the 20th century, with titles running up to 1923. Part VII provides access to titles which have never been available online before. While the content is largely English language, there are some non-English publications that show the diversity of the American people, and the potential similarities in differences in the experience of America in the late nineteenth century.
