Eighteenth-century fiction

18th Century Fiction

Collection of English prose works published from 1700-1780 by British writers. Includes: epistolary novels, novels of sentiment, documentary fiction, gothic novels, allegorical narratives and satires. Searchable by title, genre, date, keyword, author, gender, nationality, and ethnicity of author. A single edition of each work is included, usually the first. All texts have been reformatted into HTML code but include all material, including prefatory matter, illustrations, annotations by the author, etc. Also includes a scanned version of Sterne's Tristram Shandy, and two different editions of Swift's Gulliver's Travels and Richardson's Clarissa and Pamela.
