The collections selected for inclusion in the resource allow for the study of twentieth-century broadcasting through the lens of David Sarnoff, predominantly during his time at the helm of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA). Papers from the David Sarnoff collections at Hagley Museum and Library have been supplemented with trade catalogues, serials and pamphlets, a large portion of which are housed at Special Collections and University Archives, University of Maryland. The collections include visual content from product and publicity photographs to advertisements, technical drawings, maps, information graphics, and more. The bulk of the material spans the 1920s to the 1970s. Some additional content covers pre-1920s broadcasting developments, and the final years of RCA before its sale in 1986.
