World Protest and Reform Movements

This collection of primary source documents was collected by a U.S. government organization that became part of the CIA as part of a program monitoring media from around the world and translating the material into English. It covers the time period from apartheid to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. This database of primary source material allows researchers to track the contemporary history of protest movements and political reforms from around the world. The mix of government-level analysis, journalism, and eyewitness accounts offer diverse global perspectives.
