CurateND 101: Get to know the Notre Dame Institutional Repository

Wednesday, April 23, 2025

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

220 Hesburgh Library, Collaboration Hub

Unlocking the Power of CurateND: A hands-on workshop for faculty and researchers, including graduate students.

CurateND, Notre Dame’s institutional repository, is evolving—are you up to speed? This interactive workshop is designed to help faculty and researchers navigate the latest updates, understand what’s changed (and what hasn’t), and make the most of this essential platform for preserving and sharing scholarship. This will also give those interested an introduction to the Institutional Repository, how to navigate it and make the most of this opportunity to share and preserve their research outputs.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  1. The scope of the IR and what is included.
  2. How to navigate the IR for best results.
  3. How to conduct both basic and advanced searches to find exactly what you need.
  4. How to create and upload records with ease.
  5. Best practices for entering metadata to maximize discoverability.
  6. Which file formats are recommended (and why).
  7. The ins and outs of licensing, copyright, and the review process.

Expect hands-on practice, live demonstrations, and plenty of time for Q&A with the Institutional Repository Librarian, Kate Blalack. Bring your laptop to follow along to gain firsthand experience in managing your research assets efficiently.

Don’t miss this opportunity to streamline your workflow and enhance the visibility of your scholarship. We look forward to seeing you there!
