Inside Electronics: Tinkering with Circuits

Wednesday, January 26, 2022

5:00 pm – 6:15 pm

246 Hesburgh Library, Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship

This hands-on workshop introduces some of the underlying scientific knowledge about how circuits — an important part of all digital technologies — work. For example: Why does a lamp light up? What is built into our cellphones? etc.

In this workshop, we will discuss the physical concepts behind the electronics and participants will be handling the electronic components to build their own circuits.

Learning Goals

  1. Understand the concepts and relationships among voltage, current, and resistance
  2. Be able to build your own circuit with simple electronic components

Presented by Wynona Wan, NFCDS Pedagogy Fellow, graduate student in the Department of Physics
