102 Hesburgh Library, Rare Books & Special Collections
In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah), the spotlight exhibit presents three leaves from a special limited illustrated edition of Pessach Hagaddah, a Jewish ritual text used during Passover family meal. This copy was commissioned by the Wolloch family in memory of six million Jewish people who perished in Europe during the Holocaust. The traditional text is accompanied by Holocaust images connecting this ancient story of suffering and redemption with the atrocities inflicted upon Jewish people by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. The portfolio was donated to the Hesburgh Libraries in 2021.
This exhibit is curated by Natasha Lyandres, Russian and East European Studies Curator. This and other exhibits within the Hesburgh Libraries are generously supported by the McBrien Special Collections Endowment.
All exhibits are free and open to the public during business hours.
