Using DMPTool, ORCID, SciENcv, and OSF to Write Better Proposals and Set Up Research Projects

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

247 Hesburgh Library, Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship

Workshop Overview

This workshop introduces DMPTool, ORCID, SciENcv, and Open Science Framework to help you write better project/grant proposals and set up research projects.

Participants will be acquainted with tools that can be used during proposal writing and project planning to create funder-compliant data management plans, CVs/biosketches, and citable, shareable project spaces.

This session is open to anyone seeking to efficiently prepare funder-compliant project proposals or understand how to better support ND Researchers during pre-award.

Objectives:

  1. Know how to create and use ORCID researcher ID to login to online tools, harvest publication citations, and submit papers and proposals
  2. Use DMPTool to access funder templates to write compliant data management plans for grant proposals, including ND-specific best practices and resources
  3. Understand SciENcv and how to use it in NIH proposals, create NSF compliant biosketches, and more
  4. Use Open Science Framework to prepare a citable project space you can refer to in grant proposals, which demonstrates your understanding of funders’ data and software citation and sharing mandates

There are no prerequisites or prior experience required. Please bring your laptop. If you need a loaner laptop or have questions about the workshop or any of the tools, please contact cds@nd.edu.
