Lyandres is one of seven faculty members from across campus recognized for their excellence in research, teaching, and service to the University. Provost John T. McGreevy honors a different All-Faculty Team member at each home football game throughout the season; Lyandres’ recognition ceremony took place during the Notre Dame vs. North Carolina State game on Saturday, October 11.

“The Hesburgh Libraries play a vital role in supporting Notre Dame’s scholarly and student community,” Lyandres said. “It has been a true privilege to collaborate with faculty and students in developing the University’s specialized and unique collections. Preserved by the Rare Books & Special Collections Department, these collections reflect diverse global perspectives, offering exceptionally rich, hands-on opportunities to engage with primary source materials across cultures and historical periods.”

In her role as a curator in Rare Books & Special Collections, Lyandres develops and stewards collections for East European studies and the visual arts, teaches using primary source materials, and provides research consultations for students and faculty at all levels. She also curates exhibits, including the recent “Tragedies of War: Images of WWII in Print Visual Culture,” displayed during the spring of 2024.

“Natasha Lyandres is one of our most distinguished faculty librarians,” said Margaret Meserve, interim Edward H. Arnold Dean, Hesburgh Libraries and University of Notre Dame Press. “She shares her vast knowledge of our collections, many of which she has helped to build, through inspired teaching, thought-provoking exhibitions, and her own, deeply researched scholarship. She has also served as a notable leader in the Libraries for many years. I am delighted to see her contributions to Notre Dame recognized in this way.”

Lyandres is the third Hesburgh Libraries’ faculty member to be named to the All-Faculty Team, joining Architecture Librarian Jennifer Parker, recognized in 2023, and Africana Studies and Education Librarian Leslie L. Morgan, recognized in 2022. Information about this year’s team can be found on the Office of the Provost All-Faculty Team webpage.

Congratulations to Natasha Lyandres on receiving this award.
