Deans discuss Dissertation and Thesis Camp’s continued impact on graduate student success

Each semester, as Notre Dame students leave campus during fall and spring breaks, a group of graduate students takes over a section of the Hesburgh Library. Participating in Dissertation and Thesis Camp, students from disciplines across the University gather for five days to dedicate time to writing or revising chapters, creating outlines or working on abstracts. The camp provides students the opportunity to focus entirely on their work without distractions in a supportive and engaged community.

The camp is a partnership between the Hesburgh Libraries, the Writing Center and The Graduate School. Previously, we have shared how the Libraries and the Writing Center collaborate to make this week-long event a success.

In this video, Margaret Meserve, Interim Edward H. Arnold Dean of the Hesburgh Libraries and University of Notre Dame Press, and Michael Hildreth, Dean of The Graduate School, discuss the importance of academic and student support and the positive impact this program has on graduate student success.
