Hesburgh Libraries

Political Science

The Libraries provide access to resources and services to support political science research at Notre Dame. This support is geared primarily toward the Department of Political Science but extends to anyone researching or learning about politics and governance in other departments and institutes.

Political science print materials are housed within the Hesburgh Library, primarily in the “J” call number ranges on the Lower Level. Political science ebooks can be found and accessed directly through ND Catalog. The Libraries also provide access to journals, datasets, and government documents and other primary sources.

The political science librarian, Mark Robison, provides in-person and virtual (via Zoom) research consultations to students and faculty in one-on-one, small group, or classroom settings. His expertise includes finding and making sense of sources, narrowing a research question, structuring a literature review, and citation. He also provides support with finding and using data related to politics, governance, and conflict.
