Notes on the PODES Data Files, Hesburgh Libraries, January 2017
Notre Dame faculty, staff, and students can download the PODES files from Hesburgh Libraries’ web server to their own computer. The PODES files are distributed as .ZIP files. Once downloaded, use a file archiving utility (such as the built-in archiver of Windows or Mac, or 7-Zip) to unzip/extract the contents of the .ZIP file.
The PODES raw data are distributed across multiple dBASE database files (these are the files with the .dbf file extension). Most users will prefer to convert them to a common flat file format such as CSV or Stata. Users can perform this conversion using Stat/Transfer, which is installed on Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship Windows machines.
All PODES data and supporting documentation are provided in Indonesian. English translations are not available.
