Thesis and Dissertation Camps

The Hesburgh Libraries offer comprehensive research and writing camps that provide participants the opportunity to advance their skills and focus exclusively on working toward the completion of their thesis or dissertation projects. Participants work in dedicated spaces in the Hesburgh Library with few distractions. Food, coffee, and tea are provided.

These weeklong and daylong camps are designed around research and writing consultations, three-hour writing blocks, practical skill development sessions, theoretical workshop activities, and community support. Attendees will:

  1. Jumpstart or move forward in their research and writing process
  2. Consult with subject librarians
  3. Consult with University Writing Center tutors
  4. Participate in hands-on workshops to practice skills for productivity and time and task management
  5. Engage with colleagues across many disciplines to learn best practices from peers
  6. Form communities of practice that engage community members in the camp process long after the camp's conclusion
